This is one of those songs I can turn up at maximum volume in my car and sing along like insane when I'm in the right mood. I always wanted to learn this one but I kept postponing it as it requires good left foot hi-hat control which is quite painful to learn. My execution on the video is still pretty lame but having this taped helped me a lot to find the mistakes. The rudiments in the song are also a good hurdle to get through in terms of the sense for rhythm.
Challenges: Open/close hi-hat control with fast sixteenths, not very easy to learn and challenging the endurance. Also there's a 2-bars gap after a challenging rudiment - not too easy to time it right.
Mistakes: The crash cymbal and having my arms tired while playing the sixteenths on open/close hi-hat got me off the balance. This video also helped me find a mistake I wasn't aware of - there are 2 appoggiaturas just before the crash I didn't know about. It makes it sound better.
